Innovative Smart Components, Modules and Appliances for a Truly Connected, Efficient and Secure Smart Grid

CALL FOR PAPERS

The smart grid is envisaged as an ultimate solution for the provision of an automated and distributed advanced energy delivery network that can cater to the power infrastructure for the future. In this next generation energy system, intelligent technologies are vital for all parts of the system, from power generation, transmission and distribution, to energy consumption, in order to enable a transition to the smart grid and improve the reliability and efficiency of the power infrastructure. These technologies refer to power converters, smart metering devices, communication devices, security solutions and energy management systems and are key enablers for a more responsive, efficient, and environmentally friendly power system.

In this context, this special session seeks original and unpublished work on research topics including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Power conversion for power-electronic systems
  • Power conversion for high-power grid applications
  • Innovative solutions for Ultra-Low power converter circuits
  • Advanced smart metering solutions
  • Monitoring of sensor networks
  • Low cost, low power integrated current sensors
  • Demand side management, demand response, dynamic pricing
  • Design, analysis and implementation of forecasting algorithms for demand response
  • Economics and policies on smart grid
  • Management and optimization methods for EV/PHEV applications in the smart grid
  • Optimization methods and algorithms applied to the smart grid
  • Renewable energy systems & micro grids
  • Advanced low power wireless transceivers for smart-grid applications
  • Power Line Communications for smart-grids
  • Advanced security measures for smart grid communication
